AFSCME, LOCAL 390 MEETING MINUTES

Meeting Date: July 23^rd, 2009

Absent: Ed Jabs, Sharna Olson-Jabs, Dawn Noga, Char Villnow, Maridy Nordlum

Treasurer’s Report: NA due to absence of Treasurer. Wil be read at next month's meeting

Committee Reports:

• Grievance Committee:
• Potential VA MSOCS
• Scheduling issues in MSOCS
• 3^rd step filed on discharge

• Safety Committee:
• MSOCS Aug 6^th, METO NA


• Health Care Social Services Committee:
• Next date Aug 10, 2009
• A letter was sent out explaining how cuts may affect us, talk to politicians, offered suggestions on how to be proactive and stay informed

BA Report:

• Discussed Truckers festicval
• Can Google 'onedayinjuly' to get information regarding truckers strike in 1934

Labor Management:

• METO: to be rescheduled
• MSOCS:
• Full time training/work partnership, sometimes ends up in OE, why cant full time get it?
• Questioning of bereavement practices across the religions, want to make sure each persons culture is respected
• Cuts per diem rate 2.58%
• Legislator imposed a 5% cut at 98% and above
• Med Error being looked into, who and how to discipline
• Sick leave incentive is done
• Oct meeting date to be changed ...will be discussed in Sept
• Oct 1^st, vacation request and shift form to be used
• Woodcrest is moving Sept 1^st to it's new location

• Automatic local union officer allowance

• Arlene Mitchell is home now and doing well
• Linda Olson's mother passed away,. We send our condolences to the family
